Experiencing hot weather? Just ate something that has an aftertaste? Why not try drinking brewed iced tea instead of the usual soda or softdrinks?
You can prepare this beforehand and keep it in the fridge. You can also add lemon, lime or kalamansi to make it healthier.
1-1/2 liters drinking water
4 tea bags (you can use plain or flavored tea)
2/3 cup packed brown sugar (use artificial sweeteners if you are watching your weight)
60 ml lemon, lime or kalamansi juice (optional)
Place water and tea bags in saucepan and allow to boil for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and remove tea bags.
Add sugar and mix until dissolved.
Allow brewed tea and sugar mixture to completely cool.
Transfer to pitcher and put in the fridge until ready to drink.
Serve with ice.
If you used plain tea and wish to add lemon, lime or kalamansi juice, add the juice once the brewed tea has cooled down.
